John “Aquaman Ocean Defender” Koehler in his own words “I am just a big kid at heart, I am growing older but not up (in the words of Jimmy Buffett), I love my daughters most of all and being a single father I am Dad and Mom all wrapped in one! My daughters are the main focus of my life for the past 20 years and they never fail to bring love and joy into my life each and every day! Now I have a grandson, Aqualad and he has only added to my life’s blessings and joy. My Dad is not just not my father but my best friend. He has been there for me through good times and bad times. My Mother, there is not a more caring and loving person in the whole world. I enjoy my life and feel blessed for all the wonderful times I have had and will have in the future. I have traveled to many places but Hawaii and Australia are my two favorites, I have also been to Alaska, Tonga, Apia, Pago Pago, Singapore, Philippines, just to name a few. Thank you to The United States Navy for all those memories!
I am concerned about issues such as Animal Rights, Global Warming, Shark Finning, and many more important issues that are having a negative effect on our precious ecosystem. I want my children and generations to come to enjoy many of the things that are now taken for granted by many. I will be honest, I was not aware of the negative impact that many of the things I have done in the past just because that’s how I was taught and it was the “Norm”. I now am trying to make a difference in the way I live and approach my daily life so I can help in any way I can no matter how small the task. There are many wonderful organizations and individuals online at various social networking sites and blog sites covering many of the important issues our planet faces today, take a minute and check them out and learn all you can, education leads to knowledge and that is a powerful weapon. The more educated we all become on the issues our planet faces today, the better off we will be to handle them and make a difference.
