As I get ready for this week’s show, I smile knowing that this show is going to be special for many reasons. In particular we have an actual comedian for some comic relief as opposed to the ass clowns in Washington DC. Emmy award winning comedian Mike Robles is our guest. Mike has been voted one of the Top 10 Latino comics (add him on Facebook) and has been on Comedy Rhumba, Comedy Picante, Que Locos and Loco Comedy Jam just to name a few. He is coming back to his roots here in the Bronx this Friday August 26th, 2011 at The Gallery Lounge. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door but if you’re smart you’ll get them in advance here. To me Stand Up is probably one of the toughest gigs out there (speaking as a has been, who almost was), you go out night after night, club after club, city after city and if you put in 20 years and get a few lucky breaks you could make a really good living out of it. I always likened stand up to boxing, you train and train everyday but in the end, you are the one going out there alone, kill or be killed.

Then the “Spotlight on Social Justice” will shine on Earth our Mother, my co-host John “Aquaman Ocean Defender” Koehler will be leading the charge in this segment and taking calls from some true “Champions” for the environment. This will be our first show on the environment since we came back and the first time all three of the co-hosts will be together in 3 weeks. I don’t know how many of you have been following the 2012 Republican candidates for President, but if I didn’t know better I would think they had another planet to move to once they have stripped this one. I watched the Iowa debate and was amazed at a couple of things, they never mentioned global warming/climate change and when asked about raising taxes all eight candidates raised there hand simultaneously against even a 10-1 ratio (meaning getting $10 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax increases). They either have their own planet or are counting on the Rapture to pull their fannies out of the fire when Mother Earth decides enough is enough and shakes us off like water off a duck’s back.

Just a few housekeeping notes here, as many of you know I am supporting my dear sweet friend Anna Lieb (add her on Facebook) in her quest to become Playboy’s Miss Social August, I hope you will all join “Team Love” and support her click on the link daily and collect your votes (but don’t use them yet), Anna has made it to the finals and the voting for that starts on the 28th of August. Thank you for your support, and remember if you are not in the richest 1% in this country you need to join the “New American Revolution”. Also0 subscribe to this blog for all of the latest news and posts from Mission Control. 🙂

Peace, Love and Justice for All
