As I sit here in the acute pain rehab center getting ready for another day of physical therapy, I can’t help thinking about Lindsay Lohan and all the times she has been to rehab and she always has a way of making it look fun. Well maybe not the rehab itself but the journey leading up to it anyway. I don’t know but I always thought that Jack Daniels and some good old-fashioned Bronxchemical warfare” would land me in rehab, not acute pain (my ex-wife, talk about acute pain)…

Seriously though, I’m actually in a really nice place in the heart of the Bronx. I have gotten settled for the most part and am getting into a set schedule of daily activities. The PT/OT (physical therapy/occupational therapy) is really helping, even though my body tried to reject it. The food is not too bad, it takes some getting used to eating healthy as my body tried to reject that too. I have put this off for way too long and now that I’m here I don’t know what I was so afraid of, I should have done this years ago. I have been extremely fortunate to go from an excellent hospital to this rehab center. The staff here has been caring, patient and professional and if being here keeps me from having to undergo major surgery on my spine, I will stay as long as it takes.

Well I just wanted to update you on what I’ve been up to if you were wondering why I have slacked on spreading my special kind of “commie pinko socialist propaganda”. Don’t worry, I have set away 2 hours per day to focus on social justice. I am planning something pretty big with NY State Assemblyman Jose Rivera that we will be announcing soon. In case you need a reminder…

If you are not among the richest 1% in this country, you need to join the New American Revolution. The fight for justice is no tea party!!!
